Welcome to the Greater Gardner Community Choir website. GGCC is a mixed chorus (SATB), who join together for the love of singing!
Membership is open to men and women (including High School and College students) of all ages who enjoy singing. New members are always welcome. No auditions required though our director may ask you to sing to verify your placement in the correct voice range. See the Bulletin Board for details. GGCC generally performs at least two concerts per year, a Winter/Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert.
This season (Spring 2015) we are singing "Songs of Freedom." We rehearse at Bethany Baptist Church in Gardner, MA on Tuesday nights. We sing varied programs of sacred, choral and popular works, including tunes composed or arranged by Mozart, Bach, Copland, Rutter, Ellington and many others.
Along with performing as a 'solo' choir, we have sung with the Thayer Symphony Orchestra and the Nathaniel Dett Chorale and have opened for Rockapella. Most recently, the choir sang with the Harlem Gospel Choir. GGCC is also a member of the Central Massachusetts Choral Consortium, see program listings at www.MassChoral.org.
The Greater Gardner Community Choir is sponsored in part by a grant from the Gardner Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
